On March 25, British police attacked and arrested Bryan Carroll, 44, outside the hospital after Versailles police warned them that Carroll was going to visit his mother and that he could be armed and dangerous.
His dramatic arrest was caught on security video as he left the emergency room.
At the same time, in Versailles, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives and the FBI began what turned out to be a three-day search and evidence collection at Carroll’s home.
According to a federal search warrant, officers found a house full of homemade bomb-making equipment including electronics, an Army Department manual on explosives and demolition, several hundred cartridges, and fuel. , fireworks and mortars.

According to an affidavit, when ATF and FBI agents questioned Carroll about other potentially dangerous devices in the house, he said: “there are places to fear” and “maybe I should be there. go if you don’t want someone to get hurt “.
Fortunately, the investigation ended without a hitch. Woodford County EMS Director Freeman Bailey said local, state and federal officials have worked extremely well together to ensure public safety.
“We had no incidents so no one was injured from start to finish, and we are very grateful for that,” said Freeman.
As the federal investigation continues, Carroll faces 14 crimes in Fayette County, including possession of a firearm by a conflicting criminal and use of a weapon of mass destruction. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges and remains in custody at the Fayette County Detention Center.
