Leicestershire College to host huge outdoor fitness session

The Nuneaton campus will host a two-hour non-stop dance party.

North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College are inviting the local community to its Nuneaton campus next month where it will host a two-hour non-stop dance party designed to raise funds for the LOROS Hospice charity.

People are invited to wear their brightest clothes at ‘Clubberthon’ on Tuesday July 6 and wave a glow stick as they dance to 90s club hymns as well as the latest chart hits. Mass training will include high and low impact routines so that anyone can participate regardless of their fitness level.

The college is hosting the event as part of its involvement in the Rocket Round Leicester art trail which is set to take off on July 19 and will be live until September 26. The NWSLC sponsored a giant rocket designed around the theme ‘Sent with Love’ which will be on display at the Rally of Tudor Road in Leicester, Leicestershire.

NWSLC students and students from Midland Academies Trust schools competed for the chance to have their creative designs chosen for eight mini rockets known as Junior Jets that also feature on the track.

The event is designed to give Leicester and the surrounding area a boost after its difficult year during the pandemic and also to raise funds for the LOROS charity which cares for more than 2,500 people each year. The NWSLC and MAT have pledged to raise at least £ 8,000 for LOROS as part of its involvement with the trail and donations can be made here.

You can even be sponsored to participate in Clubberthon and make a huge difference for this vital charity. At Clubberthon there will be raffle prizes up for grabs, and our glitter stations will help every dancer make their entrance. Dancers will be invited to donate at the door of £ 10 for adults and £ 5 for children and to make sponsorship donations through our GoFundMe page. Refreshments and glow sticks will be available for an additional donation.

Carrie-Anne Abdulai, Director of Higher Education and Access to Higher Education for the NWSLC, said: “Rocket Round Leicester is a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain experience of a business project. live by creating designs for rockets, competing with their peers, meeting real deadlines and achieving their goals.

They are now involved in organizing a fun event that will hopefully bring people together for a much needed celebration and a chance to get back in shape after the lockdown. “

The Clubberthon will take place on Tuesday July 6 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the NWSLC Nuneaton Campus, Hinckley Road, Nuneaton.
