Many items, weapons and armor from Ring of Elden can be found through general exploration or obtained from bosses or questlines. But there are quite a few hidden items among enemies that drop at ridiculously low rates, meaning players can complete an entire game without ever seeing certain weapons or armor. A good example of this is Longhaft’s Axe, a weapon that is only dropped by the ax-wielding Misbegotten at an extremely low 2% drop rate.
Luckily, there is a way for players to increase their chances of receiving certain drops and bring those obnoxiously low drop rates down to something more manageable. The Discovered stat directly correlates to how “lucky” players are when farming for drops and there are ways players can increase this stat. Players who level up in Arcane will naturally increase their Discover stat, but those who don’t specialize in the stat line can increase their Discover in other ways. A particularly effective method is to use the SIlver Scarab Talisman, which will greatly increase discovery. Here’s how players can find the Silver Scarab Talisman in Ring of Elden.
How to Find the Silver Scarab Talisman in the Elden Ring
The Silver Scarab isn’t particularly hard to find if players know where to look, but it’s easily one of the most frustrating hidden items in all of Lands Between. This is because the Silver Scarab Talisman is found via an unseen path, in an area that most players would never think to look at. Only those who accidentally stumbled upon this path or were masters at soul-based exploration would find the Argent Scarab unaided.
To locate the talisman, players will first need to access a hidden secret area accessible by offering a secret medallion to Rold’s Great Elevator. The Haligtree Secret Medallion can be obtained by finding and assembling its two halves, which are hidden throughout the Intermediate Lands. One is fairly easy to get to, in Liurnia of the Lakes, but the other requires players to travel all the way to the top of the Giant Mountains and face one of the toughest bosses in the game. struggling to find and piece together the secret medallion of Haligtree can follow this handy guide.
Once players have access to the Haligtree Secret Medallion, they need to go to Rold’s Great Elevator and switch to the medallion via the button prompt before lifting it. Once done, players will find themselves in a new area that looks like some sort of crypt. By walking the path in front of you, climbing the grand stairs, and passing through a tunnel, players can find the hidden path to the site of Haligtree’s Grace. Players are recommended to rush to this Grace site as there are some pretty annoying and powerful enemies in the area. Once there, players must go back down the stairs and enter the large chamber where the giant ground octopus falls from the ceiling.
Passing this creature, down the stairs to the round-style platform below, players will spot a section of the missing stone railing on the right side. By simply stepping on the ledge made by this opening, they will come across an unseen path below. Straight ahead will be an archway for players to run to, with a hallway jutting out to the right and a Ghost Glovewort. Behind this Ghost Glovewort is an invisible wall, which players must hit to open a hidden path with a chest waiting at the end. The Silver Scarab Talisman is inside this chest.
What does the silver beetle talisman do?
The Silver Scarab Talisman is a very simple accessory that will simply increase a player’s Discover stat by 75. This is a huge boost, and players can simply equip this item when attempting to farm a particular weapon or piece of armor. It will also stack with other discovery-boosting items, such as arcane-boosting items and the Silver Pickled Fowl Foot. Using only the Silver Scarab Talisman is enough to greatly increase the player’s chance of finding a certain item.
