The Town of Cobourg calls on local artists for a painted picnic tables initiative

the City of Cobourg in partnership with the Downtown Business Improvement Zone (DBIA), calls on all local artists to submit their creative picnic table designs which will be on display throughout downtown Cobourg and at the Pedestrian Friendly Walkway event.

The Painted Picnic Tables initiative will help beautify and transform our downtown by adding colorful and unique displays handcrafted by local talent, a city reading release.

The picnic tables will also help provide additional seating to support our local downtown businesses and restaurants by encouraging residents and visitors to support our small businesses, he added.

“I would like to encourage all of our talented local artists to submit their best and most creative designs in time for DBIA’s second friendly pedestrian walkway in July,” said Councilor Adam Bureau, Arts, Culture and Culture Coordinator. city ​​tourism.

The city will provide 10 picnic tables and all painting supplies as well as an indoor location for artists to complete their work.

The painted picnic tables will make their first appearance at DBIA’s second friendly pedestrian walkway in July and will remain on display throughout downtown and waterfront areas for the rest of the summer.

To participate, local artists are encouraged to submit their painted picnic table design by Friday, June 25 to Jackie Chapman-Davis, Community Events Coordinator, by emailing [email protected] or by calling 905-373-7976.

Artists who submit their winning designs will each receive a $ 100 honorarium.
